Lifolo Terms of Service
Effective Date: July 25, 2026
Last Updated: July 25, 2026
1. Acceptance of These Terms
Lifolo is a mobile application operated by Selin Şeker. Throughout these Terms, "Lifolo," "we," "us," and "our" refer to the Lifolo application operated by Selin Şeker.
These Terms of Service ("Terms") form a binding agreement between you and us, governing your access to and use of the Lifolo mobile application and related services (collectively, the "Service").
By creating an account, or by otherwise accessing or using the Service, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms, as well as our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. If you do not agree, you must not use the Service.
If you are using the Service on behalf of yourself only — Lifolo does not currently support organizational, business, or agency accounts, and these Terms assume a single individual user per account.
2. What Lifolo Is
Lifolo is a mobile application that helps people discover local social events, join events created by other users, communicate with other participants of an event they have joined through an in-app group chat, and meet in person.
Lifolo is a discovery and coordination tool. It provides the technology that lets users publish events, express interest in them, and communicate about them before and around the time of the event. Lifolo does not organize, host, staff, supervise, insure, or run any event listed on the Service, and does not select, vet, or endorse any user, host, or venue. Section 10 explains this distinction, and its practical consequences, in detail.
As of the Effective Date of these Terms, Lifolo does not charge for account creation, event creation, or event participation, and does not process payments, sell tickets, or facilitate paid transactions between users. Section 25 explains how this may change in the future.
Lifolo is not a dating platform. While friendships, connections, or personal relationships may naturally arise between users who meet through the Service, Lifolo is not designed, marketed, or operated as a dating platform, matchmaking service, or relationship service. Where the Service lets an organizer set a gender-based eligibility criterion for an event, this exists to support comfortable group participation in specific event types — it is not intended to facilitate one-on-one romantic matching.
3. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old to create a Lifolo account or use the Service. Lifolo does not knowingly permit use by anyone under 18, and account creation requires you to self-declare an age within a defined range as part of your profile.
By using the Service, you represent and warrant that:
-
you are at least 18 years old;
-
you have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement;
-
you are not barred from using the Service under the laws of Türkiye, your country of residence, or any other applicable jurisdiction;
-
all information you provide during registration and profile setup is truthful and accurate, per Section 5.
If we become aware, or have reason to believe, that an account belongs to someone under 18 or that eligibility information was falsified, we reserve the right to suspend or permanently disable that account without prior notice.
4. Creating an Account and Account Security
4.1 Registration
To use most features of the Service, you must create an account using a valid email address and a password. Lifolo does not currently support sign-in via phone number or third-party identity providers.
4.2 Email verification
We will send a verification link to the email address you provide. Certain features of the Service may be unavailable until your email address is verified.
4.3 One account per person
You should maintain only one personal Lifolo account, unless we have explicitly authorized otherwise, and you should not create an account on behalf of, or transfer an account to, another person. Impersonating another individual, or creating an account using a name, photo, or identity that is not your own, is prohibited (see Section 12).
4.4 Account security
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You must notify us promptly if you become aware of any unauthorized access to, or use of, your account. Lifolo is not liable for any loss or damage arising from your failure to safeguard your account credentials.
4.5 Password reset
You may reset your password through the in-app "forgot password" flow, which will send a secure link to your registered email address.
5. Accuracy of Profile Information
When you create or edit your Lifolo profile, you provide certain information, including your name, age, city, gender, a profile photo, and optionally a short biography and your interests. By providing this information, you represent that it is truthful, current, and not misleading.
Your age and gender are used, among other things, to enforce eligibility requirements you set as an event organizer (for example, an organizer may restrict an event to a specific gender). Providing false information for the purpose of circumventing such a restriction, or to misrepresent yourself to other users, is prohibited and may result in account suspension under Section 19.
Your profile photo, name, and other profile fields you choose to display may be visible to other users of the Service, including people you have not yet met, as described further in Section 13 and in our Privacy Policy.
6. Creating Events
6.1 Who can create an event
Any user with a verified account may create an event.
6.2 What you provide
When creating an event, you must supply, at minimum, a title, category, city and location, date and time, and a maximum number of participants. You may optionally set age and gender eligibility ranges for participants, and add a description.
6.3 Reasonable-use limits
To keep the Service usable and to reduce spam and abuse, we apply reasonable technical limits to how many events an account may create within a given period of time. These limits may change without prior notice and are not a guarantee of any particular quota.
6.4 Accuracy
All information you provide when creating an event — including the date, time, location, and description — must be accurate and not misleading. See Section 7 for the organizer's responsibilities in more detail.
6.5 No pre-screening
Lifolo does not review or approve events before they are published. An event becoming visible on the Service is not an endorsement, verification, or guarantee of that event, its organizer, or its safety by Lifolo.
7. Organizer Responsibilities
If you create an event on Lifolo, you act as its organizer, and you are solely responsible for:
-
the accuracy of the event's title, description, category, date, time, location, capacity, and any eligibility criteria you set;
-
ensuring the event, its venue, and its conduct comply with all applicable laws and regulations, and with any third-party permissions, permits, or licenses that may be required;
-
not misleading participants about the nature, location, cost, or content of the event;
-
not creating conditions that pose an unreasonable safety risk to participants;
-
your own conduct toward participants before, during, and after the event.
You understand and agree that Lifolo is not a party to, and assumes no responsibility for, the event itself — including whether it takes place as scheduled, whether it is enjoyable or suitable for any particular participant, or what occurs at the event. If you cancel an event, participants who had joined are notified through the Service, but Lifolo has no obligation to compensate participants for any costs, arrangements, or expectations related to a cancelled event.
8. Participant Responsibilities
If you join an event created by another user, you are solely responsible for:
-
assessing, before joining and before attending, whether the event, its organizer, its location, and its other participants are appropriate for you;
-
your own safety, conduct, and decisions before, during, and after the event;
-
your personal belongings, transportation to and from the event, and any costs you incur in connection with the event;
-
your own physical and mental fitness to participate, including any medical, dietary, or physical considerations relevant to the event;
-
treating the organizer and other participants respectfully and in accordance with these Terms.
Joining an event through the Service is not, and should not be treated as, a safety certification of that event, its organizer, or its other participants by Lifolo.
9. Joining, Leaving, and Event Capacity
9.1 Joining
You may request to join any event visible to you that you are eligible for, subject to the event's stated capacity and any age or gender eligibility criteria the organizer has set. You may not join an event you organized yourself (you are automatically included as its organizer), and joining is subject to the eligibility, blocking, and capacity rules described elsewhere in these Terms.
9.2 Capacity
Each event has a maximum number of participants set by its organizer. Once an event reaches capacity, further join requests will be declined. Because join requests are processed in real time, it is technically possible — though we take reasonable technical measures to minimize it — for two simultaneous join requests to be evaluated close together in time; Lifolo does not guarantee that capacity limits are enforced with absolute real-time precision under all conditions.
9.3 Leaving
You may leave an event you have joined at any time. Leaving removes you from the event's participant list and revokes your access to that event's group chat, as described in Section 20. Leaving an event you organized does not transfer organizer status to another participant; if you wish to no longer run the event, you should cancel it instead.
9.4 Cancelling an event you organized
As an organizer, you may cancel your own event at any time. When you do, the event and its associated group chat are removed from the Service and are no longer accessible to participants, and remaining participants are notified of the cancellation. Content associated with a cancelled event may be deleted from our systems in accordance with our data retention practices, as described in our Privacy Policy. Cancelling an event cannot be undone through the Service, and you should not rely on the Service to preserve a record of a cancelled event's chat history.
9.5 No Guarantee of Attendance
Joining an event does not guarantee that you, or any other participant, will actually attend. Likewise, an event being published on the Service does not guarantee that it will ultimately take place — see Section 10.3.
10. In-Person Meetings and Personal Safety
This section is central to how Lifolo works, and we ask that you read it carefully.
10.1 Lifolo is a coordination tool, not an event operator
Lifolo does not organize, run, staff, supervise, or insure any event. Lifolo is not the employer, agent, representative, or partner of any organizer, and organizers are not acting on Lifolo's behalf when they create or run an event.
10.2 No identity or background verification
Lifolo verifies that an account holder controls the email address used to register. Lifolo does not perform identity verification, background checks, criminal record checks, or any assessment of a user's trustworthiness, intentions, or history. Anything you learn about another user through their profile, their event listings, or their messages is self-reported by that user and has not been independently verified by Lifolo.
10.3 No guarantee an event will occur, or occur as described
Events on Lifolo are created and can be cancelled by their organizers. Lifolo does not guarantee that any listed event will take place, will take place at the stated time and location, or will match its description.
10.4 You assume the risk of in-person interactions
Meeting people you have connected with through Lifolo, and attending events discovered through Lifolo, inherently carries real-world risk, just as it would through any other means of meeting new people. To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Lifolo disclaims responsibility for any injury, loss, theft, harassment, fraud, dispute, or other harm arising from or related to an in-person meeting or event facilitated through the Service, whether such harm is caused by another user, a third party, or the venue or conditions of the event itself. This limitation does not apply to harm caused by Lifolo's own gross negligence or willful misconduct, or to liability that cannot be limited or excluded under applicable law.
10.5 Practical precautions
We strongly encourage you to: meet in public places, especially for a first-time meeting; tell a friend or family member where you are going and who you are meeting; arrange your own transportation; trust your own judgment and leave any situation that feels unsafe; and use the in-app reporting and blocking tools described in Sections 16 and 17 if something goes wrong.
11. Relationships Between Users
Any relationship, communication, or interaction you have with another Lifolo user — whether through event participation, group chat, or in person — is solely between you and that user. Lifolo is not a party to, and has no responsibility for, disputes, disagreements, or the outcome of any interaction between users. If a dispute arises between you and another user, you agree to resolve it directly with that user, without involving Lifolo, except to the extent you wish to report the matter under Section 16.
12. Prohibited Conduct
When using the Service, you must not:
-
harass, threaten, stalk, intimidate, or bully any other user;
-
engage in hate speech, or discriminate against others on the basis of race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, age, or any other protected characteristic;
-
engage in sexual harassment, or post, send, or solicit sexually explicit content;
-
engage in, threaten, or promote violence;
-
defraud, scam, or attempt to financially exploit any other user;
-
impersonate any person or entity, or misrepresent your identity, age, or affiliation;
-
create or maintain a fake, duplicate, or misleading profile;
-
send spam, unsolicited advertising, or bulk messages of any kind;
-
offer, advertise, or solicit illegal goods or services of any kind;
-
advertise, sell, or facilitate the sale of drugs, weapons, or other dangerous or regulated goods;
-
engage in or facilitate human trafficking or exploitation of any kind;
-
solicit or offer sexual services, prostitution, or "sugar dating" arrangements;
-
exploit, endanger, or sexualize a minor in any way;
-
share another person's private or personal information without their consent ("doxxing");
-
follow, surveil, or repeatedly and unwantedly pursue another user, online or offline;
-
attempt to bypass, disable, or interfere with the security, integrity, or intended operation of the Service;
-
use bots, scripts, scraping tools, or other automated means to access, extract data from, or interact with the Service, except as expressly permitted by us in writing;
-
upload or transmit viruses, malware, or other harmful code;
-
submit a report under Section 16 that you know to be false, or use the reporting system to harass or retaliate against another user;
-
join an event with no genuine intention of attending, including for the purpose of viewing the participant list or contacting participants without intending to show up;
-
engage in any other conduct that we determine, in our reasonable judgment, endangers other users or the integrity of the Service.
This list is illustrative, not exhaustive. Engaging in any of the above, or in similarly harmful conduct, may result in content removal, account suspension, or permanent ban under Section 19.
13. User-Generated Content
13.1 What this covers
"User Content" means anything you create, upload, or share through the Service, including your profile information and photo, event listings and descriptions, and messages you send in event group chats.
13.2 You retain ownership
You retain all ownership rights you have in your User Content. These Terms do not transfer ownership of your User Content to Lifolo.
13.3 Your responsibility
You are solely responsible for your User Content and the consequences of posting or sharing it. You represent that you have all necessary rights to share the User Content you submit, and that it does not violate these Terms, any third party's rights, or applicable law.
13.4 Visibility of your content
Depending on the type of content, it may be visible to different audiences:
-
your profile name and photo may be visible to other authenticated users of the Service, and your full participant-list entry (name and photo) is visible to an event's organizer and to other current participants of that same event;
-
event details you publish (including its approximate or exact location) are visible to all authenticated users of the Service so that they can discover and evaluate the event, not only to people who have joined it;
-
messages you send in an event's group chat are visible to the other current participants of that event for as long as they remain participants, and are retained for a limited period after the chat closes as described in Section 20, even if you or another participant later leave the event or delete the app.
13.5 Photographs
You are responsible for ensuring you have the necessary rights to upload any photograph or image to the Service, including your profile photo. Where a photo includes another identifiable person, you should have that person's consent to share their image, to the extent required by applicable law, before uploading it.
14. Your Rights in Your Content
Nothing in these Terms prevents you from using, sharing, publishing, or licensing your own User Content outside of Lifolo, subject to the limited license you grant us under Section 15.
15. License You Grant to Lifolo
To operate the Service, you grant Lifolo a limited, non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, process, and display your User Content, solely to the extent reasonably necessary to: operate and provide the Service to you and other users; display your content to its intended audience as described in Section 13; enable event discovery, participation, and group chat functionality; and review, investigate, and moderate content as described in Section 18.
This license ends when you delete the relevant content or your account, except that (a) content already shared with other users through the Service (for example, messages already read by other participants) may persist in their view or in backups for a reasonable period, and (b) we may retain content as described in Section 20 and in our Privacy Policy where necessary for safety, moderation, legal, or record-keeping purposes.
This license does not grant Lifolo any right to sell your User Content to third parties or to use it for purposes unrelated to operating the Service.
16. Reporting System
If you believe another user, profile, or event violates these Terms or otherwise raises a safety concern, you may submit a report through the in-app reporting feature, selecting a reason and optionally providing a description.
Reports are reviewed by our team. Submitting a report does not guarantee any specific outcome, including that the reported content or account will be removed, restricted, or banned; we evaluate each report based on the information available to us and our own judgment. We may, but are not obligated to, inform you of the outcome of a report you submit.
Misusing the reporting system — including submitting reports you know to be false, or using reports to harass another user — is itself a violation of these Terms under Section 12.
17. Blocking Other Users
Lifolo provides a blocking feature that lets you restrict your interaction with another user. When you block another user (or another user blocks you):
-
neither of you will be able to see events created by the other in event discovery;
-
neither of you will be able to join an event created by, or already containing as a participant, the other;
-
if you are both already participants in the same event's group chat at the time the block is created, neither of you will be able to send new messages in that shared chat going forward.
Blocking is a communication and visibility control, not a physical safety guarantee. Blocking does not prevent a blocked user from attending the same public event, does not alter arrangements already made outside the Service, and does not remove messages already sent before the block was put in place. If you are concerned about your physical safety, please also review Section 10.5 and consider contacting local authorities where appropriate.
18. Moderation, Content Removal, and Investigation
To protect users and the integrity of the Service, Lifolo reserves the right, at our discretion and without prior notice, to:
-
review content and account activity, including in response to a report or independently;
-
remove, hide, or restrict access to any event, message, profile, or other content that we believe violates these Terms, is unlawful, or poses a risk to users;
-
cancel or hide an event we believe to be fraudulent, unsafe, or in violation of these Terms;
-
temporarily suspend or permanently disable an account, as described in Section 19;
-
take any other action we reasonably believe necessary to protect users or the Service.
Lifolo does not pre-screen or review all content before it is published. Given the volume and real-time nature of the Service, most content becomes visible to other users immediately upon creation. Our moderation is primarily reactive — driven by user reports and our own periodic review — rather than a guarantee that every piece of content has been checked in advance.
19. Account Suspension and Permanent Bans
If we determine, in our reasonable judgment, that you have violated these Terms, engaged in prohibited conduct under Section 12, or otherwise pose a risk to other users or the Service, we may suspend or permanently disable your access to the Service.
Where an account is suspended for this reason, you will be unable to sign in, and any active session will be terminated. We will make reasonable efforts to inform you of the suspension when you next attempt to access the Service.
We are not obligated to provide advance notice before suspending an account where we believe doing so would create or increase a risk to other users or to the integrity of the Service — for example, in cases involving suspected harassment, fraud, or a safety threat.
We may, at our sole discretion, review a suspension upon request, but we are not obligated to reinstate any account.
20. Event Chats: Duration and Message Retention
Each event on Lifolo has an associated group chat, automatically available to its organizer and current participants.
20.1 When the chat closes to new messages
The chat remains open for sending new messages until 24 hours after the event's scheduled start time. After that point, no participant — including the organizer — can send further messages in that chat.
20.2 Access while you are a participant
You can read and send messages in an event's chat only while you are a current participant of that event. If you leave the event, or the event is cancelled, you lose access to its chat, as described in Sections 9 and 6.
20.3 Message retention after the chat closes
After a chat closes to new messages, we retain the messages sent in it for a limited additional period for safety, abuse-investigation, and service-integrity purposes, after which they are permanently deleted from our systems. Where a message or the event or user it relates to is the subject of an open report or a legal obligation to preserve records, we may retain the relevant content for longer than our standard retention period, until that report or obligation is resolved. We describe our current retention period, and how it may change, in our Privacy Policy rather than fixing a specific duration in these Terms.
20.4 "Delete" and "clear" features within a chat
The Service may offer you the ability to clear a chat from your own view, or to remove your own message from your own view or mark it as deleted to other participants. These features affect what is displayed to you or to other users; they do not necessarily erase the underlying message from our systems before the retention period described above has elapsed, including for the safety and moderation purposes described in Section 18.
21. Notifications
Lifolo may send you push notifications about activity relevant to you, such as new messages, event updates, or changes to events you are involved in. You control your notification preferences through your device settings and, where available, through in-app settings. Disabling notifications does not prevent you from using the rest of the Service, but you may miss time-sensitive updates. Our Privacy Policy describes how notifications work in more detail.
22. Deleting Your Account
You may request deletion of your Lifolo account at any time through the in-app account settings. We begin processing your deletion request as soon as you submit it, and in the ordinary course, deletion is completed shortly afterward.
Once your account deletion has been completed, we are not able to restore your account or the data associated with it. Deleting your account results in, among other things, your profile, the events you created (including their participant lists and group chat history, for all participants, not only you), your own event participations, your messages across the event chats you took part in, your saved events, your blocks, and your notification settings no longer being available to you or other users through the Service.
In some cases, certain data may remain for a limited additional time after your deletion request — for example, where technically necessary to complete deletion across our systems, where required to comply with a legal obligation, or where relevant to an open report or investigation involving your account. Reports you filed against other users or events are deleted as part of your account deletion; reports that other users filed against you are retained for our records, with the reference to your specific account removed once your account no longer exists.
Our Privacy Policy describes our data retention practices, including account deletion, in more detail, and prevails to the extent of any inconsistency with the general description in this section.
23. Lifolo's Intellectual Property
The Service, including its software, design, visual identity, logos, and the "Lifolo" name and mark, is owned by us or our licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws. Except for the limited right to use the Service as intended and permitted by these Terms, we do not grant you any right, title, or interest in the Service, its underlying technology, or our trademarks.
24. Third-Party Services
The Service relies on certain third-party infrastructure providers to operate — for example, for backend data storage, authentication, push notification delivery, mapping and location search, and outbound email. Your use of features built on these providers (for example, selecting a location using a maps or places search feature) may be subject to that provider's own terms, to the extent disclosed in our Privacy Policy. We select these providers carefully but are not responsible for outages, errors, or changes in a third-party provider's own service that affect the availability or behavior of the Lifolo Service.
25. Changes to the Service
We may add, modify, or discontinue features of the Service at any time, including introducing paid features, subscriptions, or other monetized functionality in the future. If we introduce paid features, we will provide appropriate notice and, where required by applicable law, obtain your consent before charging you. Nothing in these Terms should be read as a current offer of any paid feature.
26. Service Availability
We aim to keep the Service available and reliable, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted, error-free, or continuous access. The Service may be temporarily unavailable due to maintenance, technical issues, or circumstances outside our control, including outages of the third-party infrastructure described in Section 24.
27. No Warranty
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, the Service is provided "as is," without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that any event, user, or content on the Service is accurate, safe, or as described. This section does not limit any warranty or right that cannot be excluded under applicable Turkish consumer protection law or other mandatory law.
28. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, and without prejudice to Section 10.4:
-
Lifolo, its officers, employees, and affiliates will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, data, goodwill, or other intangible losses, arising out of or related to your use of the Service;
-
Lifolo's total liability arising out of or related to these Terms or the Service, for any claim not otherwise excluded, will not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you have paid to Lifolo in the twelve months preceding the claim (which, under the current free version of the Service, is zero), or (b) an amount required as a minimum by applicable mandatory law.
Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by our gross negligence or willful misconduct, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation on our part, or for any other liability that cannot lawfully be limited or excluded under the laws of Türkiye or another jurisdiction whose mandatory consumer-protection law applies to you. Where applicable law does not permit some or all of the limitations above, those limitations apply to you only to the maximum extent permitted.
29. Indemnification
To the extent permitted by applicable law, you agree to be responsible for, and to compensate Lifolo for, any claims, damages, or reasonable costs arising from your violation of these Terms, your User Content, or your conduct as an event organizer or participant — including conduct or events occurring in person — except where the claim arises from Lifolo's own breach of these Terms, gross negligence, or willful misconduct.
30. Force Majeure
Lifolo will not be liable for any failure or delay in performance under these Terms resulting from causes beyond our reasonable control, including natural disasters, acts of government, war, civil unrest, labor disputes, internet or telecommunications failures, or failures of third-party infrastructure providers described in Section 24.
31. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes to the Service, legal requirements, or our practices. If we make material changes, we will provide notice through the Service or by other reasonable means before the changes take effect. Your continued use of the Service after a change becomes effective constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms. If you do not agree to the updated Terms, you should stop using the Service and may delete your account as described in Section 22.
32. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Türkiye, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, except to the extent mandatory consumer-protection or data-protection law of your country of residence applies to you and cannot be displaced by this choice of law.
Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts and consumer arbitration committees (tüketici hakem heyetleri) in Türkiye, to the extent permitted by applicable law, without prejudice to any mandatory right you may have to bring proceedings in your country of residence.
33. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid, illegal, or unenforceable by a court or authority of competent jurisdiction, that provision will be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions of these Terms will continue in full force and effect.
34. No Waiver
Our failure to enforce any right or provision of these Terms will not be considered a waiver of that right or provision. Any waiver of any provision of these Terms will be effective only if in writing and signed by an authorized representative of Lifolo.
35. Assignment
You may not assign or transfer these Terms, or any rights or obligations under them, without our prior written consent. We may assign these Terms, in whole or in part, in connection with a merger, acquisition, corporate reorganization, or sale of all or substantially all of our assets, without your consent, provided that the assignee agrees to be bound by these Terms.
